Erik’s background and experience as an assistant attorney general provides clients with an aggressive prosecutor’s mentality in pursuing litigation and fighting for clients. While at the Colorado Attorney General, he investigated, litigated, and took to trial highly complex civil cases against powerful defendants who were represented by high-priced law firms—and in every case promptly stopped all the targeted business practices despite fierce and well—funded opposition. He brought one of the most complex and hardest fought cases in the State of Colorado’s history, where defense lawyers billed nearly $6 million in attorney fees to defend it. Erik was lead counsel on cases that resulted in the largest collected judgment, the most victim restitution, the most seven-figure judgments, and one of the largest trial verdicts in the history of the consumer protection section for actions by the Colorado Attorney General. Erik never shied away from taking the tough cases against the most powerful businesses, including through trial, and as a result he had the most trial experience in the consumer protection section.

Erik prides himself on focusing on the big picture of cases, thinking outside the box, and getting results efficiently.

This experience provides clients with an effective and knowledgeable attorney who can diligently prepare your case and know how to present it at trial. Erik believes that the best settlements are achieved for clients by showing the opposition that you know how to build and try a case, and if necessary can and will go all the way to trial.

Before becoming a prosecutor, Erik was in private practice representing a wide range of clients, including corporations, involving complex matters such as class actions. Erik also successfully defended corporations at trials with favorable jury verdicts.

Erik returned to private practice to fight for individuals and businesses who deserve to have a relentless and skilled lawyer who can litigate against anyone and get results. His record at the Attorney General demonstrate that he has the experience and skills for your case to succeed.
